The jury, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hab. Włodzimierz Zalewski, and composed of Dr. Roma Owsinska, Ole Jørgen Kristiansen, Arnold Rutkowski, Dr. Katarzyna Haras, Dr. Monika Świostek, Prof. Dr. Hab. Jacek Ozimkowski, Prof. Dr. Hab. Piotr Kusiewicz, Oksana Myronchuk, Prof. Dr. Hab. Agata Kobierska, and Krzysztof Aureliusz Łuczyński, evaluated participants in three age categories from July 10–12.

The winners were announced during the laureates’ concert. Selecting the laureates was a challenging task due to the very high level of competition, leading to some awards being shared ex aequo.

COMPETITION RESULTS:

Category 1

  • 1st Prize – Magdalena Wójciak
  • 3rd Prize – Adam Dawiec

Category 2

  • 1st Prize – Zuzanna Wrona
  • 1st Prize – Grzegorz Rubacha
  • 3rd Prize – Sylwia Wnuk
  • 3rd Prize – Milena Maria Joszko

Category 3

  • 1st Prize – Mingxuan Chen
  • 2nd Prize – Grzegorz Smyk
  • 3rd Prize – Halyna Wilkha
  • 3rd Prize – Łukasz Kostka
  • 3rd Prize – Karolina Borodziuk
  • 3rd Prize – Monika Dzwonnik

Special awards were also granted, including:

  • Awards from the Katowice City of Gardens institution to Zuzanna Wrona, Grzegorz Rubacha, and Mingxuan Chen.
  • Special award for the best performance of a piece from Monika Swarowska-Walawska’s repertoire to Anna Wójcik.
  • Award for the best performance of a Polish piece by a foreigner to Mingxuan Chen.
  • Prof. Piotr Kusiewicz’s award for the best soprano in Category 3 (Amateur Subcategory) to Anna Gastoł.
  • Invitations from Prof. Piotr Kusiewicz to audition for the Baltic Opera to Monika Dzwonnik and Grzegorz Rubacha.
  • Special recognition for competition pianist Dr. Hab. Dagmara Niedziela.

Once again, the Monika Swarowska-Walawska International Vocal Competition Singing Without Borders took place in Krzeszowice. This third edition was hosted at the Z. Noskowski State Music School in Krzeszowice, with participants from Greece, Sweden, Vietnam, and China.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of Łukasz Smółka, Deputy Marshal of Małopolska, and the Mayor of Krzeszowice, with financial support from Wojciech Pałka, Kraków County Starost. It also received media patronage from TVP Kultura, TVP 3 Kraków, Radio Kraków, Alenuty.pl, Dziennik Podhalański, NowyTarg24.tv, Gwarek Małopolski, and Magazyn Krzeszowicki.

The event is organized by the Singing Without Borders Vocal Culture Association in close cooperation with the Norwegian organization POLSK-NORSK KULTURFORENING SAMHOLD.
